I'll be walking with hundreds of Texans from dozens of churches to promote the sanctity of innocent human life and to raise funds for life-saving programs and agencies in our community.

One hundred percent (100%) of the proceeds will support these programs and agencies, and all donations are tax-deductible. There are also great incentives for walkers who raise more than $200 in sponsorship pledges -- and prizes for the top individuals, churches, pastors, and youth groups!

Inspire Your Church Community to Walk 2010!

First Things First: Set an Example!

Register as a walker.
Attend the Walk Kick-Off for your region to find out how you can help promote the Walk 2010! The Georgetown Walk 2010 Kick-Off will be held March 23 at St. Helen's Catholic Parish in Georgetown. Call 512.477.1244 for more information.
Encourage church leaders to register as walkers. Ask your minister/pastor/priest, deacon, Sunday school teachers, group/club leaders, and choir members.

Announce the Walk in Your Church Bulletin

Place a short announcement in the bulletin at least twice between April 1 and May 17. (See page 11 of the Walk 2010 Handbook for sample text.)
List the names of registered walkers in your church and invite others to join you. Walk as a group.
Challenge others to help your church win the Top Church award!

Make an Announcement During Church Services and Smaller Group Meetings

Tell your church community that you will be walking. (See page 11 of the Walk 2010 Handbook for sample text.)
Invite a TAL representative to give a short presentation. Call 512.477.1244.
Challenge others to beat your personal pledge goal.
Be sure to mention that 100% of the proceeds benefit pro-life programs and services in your community.
Mention the incentives for pledges of $200 or more.

Set Up a Table Before and After Church Services and Events

Hang Posters in the Church and in Classrooms

Place extra registration brochures next to the posters.
Write your name and phone number on the posters as the Local Walk Contact.

Email Church Members and Contacts

Email an announcement to the church's membership list. (Click the link above or copy and paste the sample text into the body of your email message.)
Ask church members to forward the email to their personal contacts.
